The topic that we have chosen is on the internet issue in Gilgit Baltistan.

In this modern era when everything is going digital. Gilgit baltistan is still deprived of reliable 4G services. The scom network available in the area provides 4G services. But its connectivity is too weak and not available in some of the villages.

Due to the second wave of covid.19 , Educational Institutions are closed. Institutions are forcing students to take online classes college.GB students who are studying in city are avoiding to go to their homes because of inadequate internet facilities. 

.



The protesters said thousands GB students enrolled in various educational institutions in the country had been protesting for last one month, demanding better Internet connectivity in the region to avail online classes.

GILGIT: A large number of students studying in various educational institutions across the country staged a protest demonstration outside the Hunza Press Club on Monday against the online classes and poor internet connectivity in the region.

The protesters announced boycott of online classes till provision of internet services in the region.

The Karakoram Highway remained blocked during  the protest.



One of the protester said: "The future of students is at risk as the regional and the federal government are not serious to address their concerns", he added. The protesters asked the region’s apex court to take notice of the situation and allow private service providers to operate 4G Internet in the region.
